In Va our mobile kitchen is licensed by the HD statewide but we still have to deal with localities when we sell because the collection of food tax (on top of state tax) is local. _________________ Virginia Q

Same here (we have a state wide LICENSE) but each county does their own HD permits. Then each city has their own lic fees for the same reason as yours....everybody has to make their "buck" |

Do you have to deal with a state wide litter tax? Because we are a "take-out" establishment when we vend we have to. It is small but just another way for someone else to "make their buck" _________________ Virginia Q

Yes, the "litter tax" started here about 3 years ago. I forget just how much it is but if memory serves me right it is .03% of sales REGARDLESS if we use paper goods or not. |

BBQMAN; If you took this from a hobby into a Business what kind of website (if any) do you have. Can I please see it. I'm very much intriqued. Since almost all my friends and strangers keep telling me to go into business since my BBQ is better than any other BBQ Shack we have in the are (Lancaster County, Pa) |

When I fire up my smoker I usually load it up with extra (most times about 100#). Then place it in freezer ziplock bags of 5# each and sell the bags. Granted it is not according to the HD but I sell it to friends. This is allowing me to get "started" and helps finance other things that are needed to build up my business |
