I wonder how they get grill marks all the way around a curved piece. Paintbrush, maybe? _________________ Jimmie Ohio

yea the owner of a local one told us that its actually baked not grilled and the lines are painted on, also I think its common knowledge by now but their fried is made ("fried") in a pressure cooker not a deep fryer |

Actually, only the original recipe is fried under pressure. It is still technically fried. The crispy stuff is double breaded and deep fried. Original is unmarinated and the sesoning is in the breading (a single dredging). The crispy is marinated and in the old days the breading was unseasoned. I believe now there are some seasonings in the flour.

At the grocery store, there is a spice product called "Kentucky Colonel", chicken seasoning. Bother with formulating your own knock off season blend if you want, its just as well and easier to just buy "Kentucky Colonel". _________________ Traeger 075 "Big Tex"

We had some of that "grilled" chicken a while back.
If you think that stuff is good, your taste buds are WAY off.
I can't believe anyone likes that crap
And why on earth would anybody want to recreate it?!? LMFAO

Oh...as a side note:
A "broaster" is a specific pressure fryer and has nothing to do with a grilled/baked chicken.
As far as the broaster is concerned...KFC uses pressure fryers, but they are not Broaster branded fryers. Technically KFC can not say they serve broasted chicken.
How's that for a bunch of useless information? LOL _________________ Somewhere in Kenya...a village is missing their idiot. |

You can do better than Kentucky Grilled Chicken by buying a pack of chicken thighs, salt and pepper, and throwing them on the grill until done.
That's not even talking about brine, beer brine, marinades, rubs, brushing on a glaze, spritzing, etc. Chicken thighs and legs are some of the easiest things to cook.
I haven't tried KGC chicken breast, but I'm guessing it comes out like chalk. I brine for a couple of hours, then do a quick marinade of crushed garlic, diced shallot, EVOO, balsamic vinegar, pepper, and thyme. I pull it off when it's just barely done. Juicy and wonderful.
Trying to mimic KGC sounds like trying to make a recipe for Pop-Tarts. You'd have to know a shipping store or somewhere you can buy cardboard in bulk. |

Have to "guess" the ones that don't KNOW what "good" is....thinks it's good.
Or worse yet, the ones that don't know how to cook in the first place so they don't know the difference...or don't care, it's food to them. |
