I am shopping around for pits and came across Bates pits in Houston on the web. Anyone have one or have heard good/bad things about them? Looks like they are very reasonable and have more for the money than other pits out there.

Any comments would be appreciated.

Thanx

Gator Pits is the way to go. Full custom pits, great customer service, most bang for the buck. check the web site and talk to the guys on the forum. If your going to spend that kind of money get the best.

I like my setup. I got the grill insert & the steak insert, so I can either smoke it, grill it, or braize it/sear it. I also had 2 custom split grates made for grilling so I can slide the food off to the side to add coals, or slow cook it.
