I think I'm gonna try smoking some wings on Sunday or Monday. Do you guys make any sauce for your wings? I found a rub that I'm gonna mix up, but was wondering about sauce. Would sauce completely ruin the smoke taste?
I'm thinking I may mix up some sort of honey/bourbon sauce and put it on some of them and leave some of them bare.
Thoughts? |

Sauce doesn't ruin the taste of bbq chicken so why would it ruin wings?
Sauce them if you want...you don't have to sauce the entire batch. _________________ Somewhere in Kenya...a village is missing their idiot. |

Good point. I smoked them on Monday and put a homemade honey/bourbon glaze on about half of them. Both were pretty tasty.
It was also the first time smoking on my new Brinkman Gourmet smoker. I made a modification to the coal/wood pan and had pretty good success with it. Gonna try a couple of butts on it this weekend. |

I actually put on the rub and sauce them before I smoke them for two hours then throw then on a hot grill to give them some char (which is like and extra flavor in it's self) then I sauce them again.
My family loves them. |

I actually just baste the wings with honey as they cook and then toss them in some buffalo sauces after I take them off. I also sprinkle them with a little salt and pepper before putting them on. _________________ Char-Griller Super-Pro
