I advertise Oak Smoked and Fired Barbecue and recieved this email.
I've gotten several of these, but this one is so dumb it's funny.

Hello Sir/Madam,
Greetings to you, well am Glen Johnson and I am sending this order note in regards to purchase some Fired Barbecue, from your company. I will need your assistance of the models, sizes and price lists of the Fired Barbecue that you do have for sell. Actually I would like to know whether you accept credit card for payment.Hope to hear back from you soon.

Best Regards,
Glen Johnson

Is there some place to turn these guys in and try to bust them?
I figure it's probably from a foreign country and is most likely a waste of time to do anything.
What do you think?

I would reply asking if they would like to add a few units of you "Oak Smoked" to their order.

Read up on 419eater, and see if you can hook this clown and send him on safari. You could also forward it's contact info over to a veteran at 419eater and let them have fun with it.

For anyone who hasn't wasted an hour at 419eater, you really should! the stuff these scammers will do because they think they have a big score is hilarious! They scammers have gotten tattoo's, degrading photo's, and ended up thousands of miles from their home thinking that were going to collect on the scam of the century.

Your state attorney general.

I know Idaho's is pretty attentive to scams, but that varies depending on what state you are in.

But I would also bet the origins of these are offshore.

As you keep them on the hook, you might just stop them from taking the life savings of a little old lady or someone who is not "all there" and so easily persuaded to part with their retirement.

I wonder why the credit card issuers have not offered a bounty on turning in fraudulant card use like this?
key in the number, use a code to flag the card, and get a break on processing fees or a credit towards your fees for valid use?

Then on the other hand, fraudulaent use probably only hurts to poor consumer who didn't read the contract well enough!

My first reply to this obvious fraud was:

Thank you for your interest.
In answer to your question, yes, we accept all major credit cards.

How may we help you?
Bill

He writes back:
Kindly let me know the models and sizes of the Fired Barbecue that you have for sell.Hope to hear back from you soon.

Best Regards,
Glen Johnson

My reply was:
I didn't realize you were in CA.
I'm in Iowa so that makes delivering bbq a little more expensive than usual.
Of course you could pick it up yourself, if that suits you.
Anyway, I specialize in wood smoked bbq. How can I be of assistance?
Bill

His reply to me again was:
Kindly let me know the models and sizes of the Fired Barbecue that you have for sell.Hope to hear back from you soon.
Best Regards,
Glen Johnson

So I sent this one today:
We sell models 101, 202, and 303 at this time. The 404 series had some cosmetic problems and we never sell inferior products, so we were forced to discontinue this item.
All three come in medium, large, and extra large.
If there is anything else I can help you with, please let me know.
Bill

We'll see what happens. Very Happy

I recieved this reply from Glen:

I have been busy and this was dragging out, so I wrote this reply yesterday evening:
Why don't you cut to the chase and tell me what it is you want from me.
If I can help you, I will, but I fear you are wasting my time and yours.
Bill

No reply yet.

I should have played this thing more, but I got busy and impatient with it.

If any of you would like to mess with this guy, his email is:
