Been bar-b-qn off & on for more years than I care to admit..BUT..like I would imagine 99%?? of the average person who does it, I always just figured it was light some coals, throw on some meat, flip it 2 dozen times and when ya think it's done pull it and hope for the best. Shocked Who Knew??..amazing what I have learned since thanks to this forum.

A few days ago I went to a local grocery store with zero intentions of looking at a new grill. Well they had 4 already assembled units out front on sale for $30 off and another $10 off store flyer coupon taped right to the unit. Well, my ole trusty 15 year old Weber sometimes comes up short on grill space so thought what the heck & bought one. I didn't even look at who made it etc. just brought it home. Reading the manual I find out it is a CharGriller Pro Deluxe modell #2222. Ok, big deal what's that mean? Internet search ensues and here I am..lol..

Not sure gettin it was a smart move yet (tongue in cheek)..I have already done 2 mods so far. Wink (who knew there was such a thing??) Thanks folks..now I have to think about temps at the grill level, cool spots, heat flow, ash buildup, proper temps & times, to slather or not etc. etc. Laughing

Anyway, sorry for the long post but I have learned a ton from this forum and got some great info. I now have discovered 'grillin' is more of a combination of science and art than anything and I haven't even touched on smokin yet!!.. Shocked

I'll contribute if I ever get anything worthwhile to share..

GnarleyQr,
Welcome, and feel free to post even if you don't think you have something worthwhile. Some of us might think it's worthwhile. For example picts of your current mods or future mods would be interesting!

I am sure you will make that CharGriller hum. All the best Very Happy
