Kevin,
Thank you my friend!
Bruce came over this weekend and although his rig is not done we decided to fire it up! I installed one turkey therm just to see what she would do after an adjustment or two, or ten, and there wasn't any water pans in her. The intake worked better than I expected and the exhaust worked fine too. We had a couple leaks as we expected, but nothing to stress over. We just wanted to see if she held a temp, and she passed with flying colors...
FIRE!
A couple of the boys found out and came over to see what she would do. The first firing of a new pit seems to be an event, I thought Bruce and I were the only ones curiuos about what she would do... Eric, Craiger and Bruce standing by Bruce's new baby.
Bruce playing with his new toy.
One happy customer!
Hey Chuck keep your lemonade off my rig! Only my beer on this puppy.
We watched her on into the night... About 4.5 hours.
We have a couple of small things to do plus blasting and paint ... I'm just about done.

Chuck, I am glad the test fire went well my Friend. I am with Bruce on the hard rock lemonade stuff save that for the girly parties. I know it needs paint or not but I look forward to seeing some cook pics on this work of art. Nicely done my man.
Wheres your shades Bro?
All the best,

Ha! That's funny! you caught me off guard! I think the shades are only for planned parties, this little party just happened on its own. Now my other friends and family are upset because they didn't get invited. Thank you for all your help and the kind words my friend!
GF,
Thank you bro! I was surprised at how happy he is with it, I guess he has been waiting a while for it. He is planning his first cook and talking brisket already... I think he needs to learn to walk before he can run. The welding is almost done, then a few holes to drill and some paint. It looks like I'm going to do the s.blasting and paint prep... Man I thought I was done after the welding part! _________________ SEE YA!

I know weve talked about it, but have you made a final choice? Have to go with the boys on this one and that pink lemonade stuff. You wonder why you feel like he!! in the mornings Im telling you, one of these days Im gonna mail you some fuzzy dice for that hat! _________________ Trailers By Troy

patruns,
I thought we lost ya bro!
Thank you Sir!
Troy,
Thank you my friend! No plans for the paint yet. I did tell Bruce it would be a shame to paint over that shiny new weber lid.
The lemonade is not pink and is not the cause of the bad mornings... it's not helping the mornings either, but I don't drink very often. The dice might just work on that hat bro.
Maniac,
Thanks bro! Bruce has lost a few lb's, but once he gets cooking on her... She will put them right back on him. _________________ SEE YA!

The lid that you use is it a Weber lid. Just curious. By the way the build looks very nice. Even though it took you a year to build lol j/k. _________________ Goodone Open Range Revearse Lid |

You need a built in table for that rig! A slide out table top like the damper on the exhaust would be cool! _________________ Good BBQ is all smoke and beers!

daddywoofdawg,
I was hoping nobody was going to notice the nonexistent table or at the very least Bruce wouldn't notice.
I was thinking about a table on the front but didn't want to cover my intake work up... so I decided Bruce could get a patio table.
Your idea would be very cool! maybe on the next one... Mine!
