I'm getting ready to build myself a UDS. I've done a ton of research and I've taken ideas here and there that I plan to incorporate into my smoker. Do we have a thread started already for UDS pics? If so can someone send me the link, I havent seen one. If not, lets see'um (or links).
I've googled uds and seen several, but theirs some creative folks here and I'd like to see what all is out there. Even if it's not yours but one you've stumbled upon thats worth posting.
Thanks,
James

I've done hours of searching. Their is just so many UDS topics it's hard to weed through them. Thought it would nice to have a thread devoted to UDS images. If not no biggie. I may try to put this in the General BBQ.

It's here, it will stay here please if it gets cross posted pick the answers you want to stay cause the other thread will be gone.

Here's the why http://www.thesmokering.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=51247

5) Don't cross post, don't just cut and paste the same or nearly the same thread into different sections of these forums, it will be deemed cross posting and will end up with all the extraneous posts deleted, the Site Administrator will attempt to leave one in the most relevant section of the forum, offenders will be warned, repeat offender will be banned.

Duplicate posts don't get you any more answers and do cause problems when people answer one, don't see where they are posting then come back to another thread and find their post missing, (because it's the same thread in a different area and they weren't paying attention), then I get emails and PM's demanding to know why I deleted their post, (which I didn't because it was on the same worded thread in a different section).

To save myself all the aggravation we do away with the chance of it happening by deleting duplicate posts.

YHBW! Wink

We may put together a UDS pictures thread, hands up whoever wants to do it?

A picture gallery "sticky" for completed builds would be cool. Posters could then add a link to their build thread, if they are so inclined. My virtual hand is up.

Here's my two cents worth:

Here's how I muddled through.

Thanks for posting all the pics fellas. I'm hoping to start on mine in the near future. I went to buy my drum the other day but the guy didn't have what I wanted. He has several drums, some had liners some didn't. He didn't have one without a liner in it at the moment so that's what I'm waiting for. Supposedly within 2 weeks. He had several but he sells them as burn barrels and already punched holes in them. Price is $25 with a lid. While I was there I happened to notice a weber kettle laid up against his building. Snatched that for $25 as well so I now have me a lid.
I'll start a thread for the build. I'm in no rush to finish this as I have several ideas that I want all done right so it may turn into a lengthy build. Maybe using some of your ideas k.a.m. I've seen a lot of your work and it's quite inspiring. Definately plan on using your basket design. I also plan on some type of table incorporated into it as well.
Anyways, thanks again. I hope we have some more images posted on this thread. With all the research I've done I think it would be quite helpful for other people considering a UDS build.
Thanks again,
James

Lots of great ideas here to mod mine out - need some shelves for sure. I got the lid from some hunting site since it came without one. I put a stabilizing bar in the inside and cut a 2 inch hole for air. Not bad for a 14 dollar order
