| Sauce is so subjective, I buy different sauces to try and have amassed quite a collection. When I makes some BBQ, I pull them all out for my guests. Some people prefer one type, others like another. I like some sauces on pork but they aren't as good on beef. |

Mine would have to be Jack Daniel's Honey Smokehouse.
But what I use the most of would be shop-n-save brand, half hickory, half honey then doctored up. |

My favorite is a local one made not to far from me. It is called Uncles made with pure Louisiana cane sugar and a touch of habonero peppers. _________________ Goodone Open Range Revearse Lid |

Most grocery store sauces are disappointing to me, especially the national brands. As far as a bottle of bbq sauce you can buy at a grocery store, I have found a couple of surprises. Cattlemen's is not bad. I mentioned the Budweiser BBQ sauce at Walmart is good. Much to my surprise, I bought a bottle of the cheapest thing off the shelf at Walmart, which was Open Pit Original Blue Label at $0.98 a bottle. I was very pleasantly surprised. I liked it the best of any national brand grocery store bought BBQ sauce I've tried.

This will be a regular for me.
For non-national, non-grocery store brands, my favorite so far is Viper Sauce. www.vipersauce.com
As far as some national brands that have been losers, Stubbs Honey Pecan was awful. Kraft has always been lame. I've never been impressed with Bullseye or KC Masterpiece either. |

Sweet Baby Rays is real good, if you cut it with a little white vinegar. I like about 3 to 1 my own self. _________________ When inept, do as the Eptians do.... |

My wife and I love the Gates BBQ sauces. Only problem is we can't get them locally. So we have family in Kansas City ship it to us when we are close to running out.
Pretty good rubs too. _________________ Weber Genesis E330

The only time I use commercial is when I don't have time to make my own. However, I received complements on a mixture of plain ordinary Kraft Barbecue Sauce and KC Masterpiece. I think KC Masterpiece is too sweet by itself but it is not bad when mixed with Kraft.
I use about 2/3 Kraft to 1/3 KC Masterpiece, then try it and mix it to taste.

Depends on what I'm up to.
If it's a Carolina Style sammich it's gotta be George's vinegar sauce in the hot variety.
Regular pulled pork is either nothing or maybe some Lotta bull sauce from Mike Davis.
If it's ribs it's a dry rub with lotta bull on the side or maybe some sticky fingers carolina sweet or memphis. |

K.C. Masterpiece Hickory (not Hickory Brown Sugar), but they don't make it anymore. _________________ Pat
