My favorite so far. My cooker is very similar and I love the way it cooks.

Thanks Big Ron I really love the way these cookers cook too the temps across cooker are very close. On another note.... Your rubs are great and I am promoting them at work in Alabama, very good rubs indeed!!!

first I would like to tell you that I hope you and your family kick this cancer's A**. it can be a hard time but keep fighting. My dad is a 3 time survivor, Brest twice and prostate once.

2ed nice build. in 5 days it has to be nice to have the tools and skills to do that much work. It took my buddy & I 9 months to build ours( few hours here and there, with limited tools) but we learned a lot.

next, what size is the opening from the fire box into the cook chamber? and what temps do you get? and how fast does it heat up? our build is almost like that one. and I would like to see where ours is compared to some one that knows what they are doing.

thanks. thoughts with you and your fam.

Thanks for the encouraging words!!!!!!!!

The cooker is 24" diameter by 58 inches long. The cook chamber opening was 5.5" tall by just a little over 20"wide. It takes about 40 minutes to get up to 250 degrees and the temps are very close across cooker anywhere from 5 to 10 degrees. I generally put one basket of lit charcoal and a half basket unlit with a couple of small splits of wood. Then I feed it about every 50 minutes. The cooker can be taken up to 350 degrees easily if you so choose. Hope this helps. The opening at the end of the baffle plate is just about the size of the opening from firebox to cook chamber. I personally make it a little under and it always works great for me
