What size should I biuld my rib racks for Spare ribs and Baby backs. 90% of the time I will use it for spare ribs. I am going to build them all the way across the top shelf of the pit.

I have a pair of these I use half racks of ribs in my bullet smoker. They're tall enough for full spares, but I've never used them for full spares.

they're too tall for St. Louis cut spares and pork loin back ribs, so I use wooden skewers to suspend half racks from the top and keep them spaced apart on the bottom.

I have one of these that works great for both St. Louis cut spares and pork loin back ribs in my small horizontal offset. It would require some modifications to be able to really accommodate full spares.

Hopefully this gives you a range of dimensions to consider.

If you need more detailed dimensions for these send me your e-mail address via PM.

Necron Thanks for the Offer. Please send me the Dimensions.

SoEzzy it is not that easy

I need the vertical height and length for the rib racks. It has to be high enough for Spares but low enough for baby backs, and long enough so the spares don't bend and lay on each other.

18" length of rack of spares, (roughly) so a depth of 15" or 16" will have a small overhang either ends of the ribs.
2" - 2.5" gap between racks.
single bar at 3" up or dual bars one at 3" up one at 6"

You will not find, (IMO), the perfect rack for both spares and baby backs.

PM me your e-mail address so I can take some pics of the racks alongside a measuring tape and send to you via external e-mail tomorrow or Friday. The PM tool here isn't the best for sending images.

The CC racks dimensions listed on Amazon are:

Product Dimensions: 10.2 x 4.9 x 10.1 inches

The Raichlen rack dimensions listed on Amazon are

Product Dimensions: 14 x 11.8 x 6.8 inches

True, but you could build racks that will work well with both IMO, for a specific cooker. We'll see how the OP's fab skills and some ideas turn out.

Would this work for ya ?

The rods are 3 1/2 inches tall. The grate is 48 by 30 inches. I can stuff 26 racks of spares or baby backs on it, 2 deep 13 wide.

Sorry I sent the above at a traffic light in my car.

How much space between the verticals. How space for each ribs?

Do you turn the ribs over are do you leave them bone side down for the whole cook?
