Hey Y'all, I am new to the forum and realatively new to building smokers or pits. I have learned a lot reading the expert advice posted here. Trial and error has been a solid teacher but it's nice to learn without too many mistakes once in awhile. I smoke on offset stick burners. I have built 2 and on my third but making a differnt config. this time: horizontal feeding into a vertical. I undersized the firebox too, ooops. I may be looking for advice on how to correct.

Welcome to the ring castrovillecowboy, looking forward to seeing some pics of your cooks and cookers. Smile
With a name like castrovillecowboy I am guessing a little southwest of San Antonio on 90 west. Wink
I traveled through castroville a many a time headed to Brackettville where our deer lease was.

After years of helping others, I was tired of having to constantly tend a fire in the Charbroiler I had. While it worked, it was work keeping temps where I wanted. I built my first smoker for me a few years ago. It works, but not very unique. I built another for a friend and now I am on my new one and could use some help. I will be attaching some pictures ....

Welcome CCowboy. I'm in Stafford and yep 95 sucks. No two ways about it it flat out sucks. But what doesn't suck is the Smoke Ring. Plenty of very helpful and knowledgeable folks. All the best.

Thanks Dan. Yep crazier than an outhouse rat, but it's where the job is. So glad to have found this forum. First one I ever joined. Don't suppose you do comps? My buddy and I are thinking of trying this year, but wouldn't mind to intern on one first.
