Lots to sort through. Time for the wife to start carrying the Ruger LCP as intended and for me to find a new 9mm to carry daily.
While I like the Ruger a lot, I'm looking for suggestions of another 9mm for daily carry. Not ready to move into .45 ACP, as I have a lot of 9mm ammo already stockpiled.
So far, the S&W W&P has gotten good reviews from folks I know. Looking for a few other suggestions before I rent and shoot at the range and eventually buy.
What say you? |

For low budget, the S&W SD 9 is hard to beat. I don't carry it every day, but I think it would do fine as a daily carry. Some folks think it's a little too big, but it seems easily concealable to me, and very light.
I'm going to be adding a couple pistols before the election, a Sig P225 for me and my wife seems to be sold on a Sig P 320. I have a couple antique pistols that I'm going to sell to finance this little adventure. An 1862 Rogers & Spencer revolver and a 1942 Colt 1911 A1.
Happy shopping ! _________________ All's well that ends.......... |

I love the Ruger LC9S pro along with inside the waistband aliengear holster. Not sure what model LCP you have but the LC9S has striker fire action like the S&W shield. Much smoother action compared to the DAO of the early LC series |

OK - 1 Glock fan but dont own a 9mm.
I have shot Glocks ranging from OLD to new, but all 40s. ONe thing I will say is they are consistent. Even rented one when I qualified for my concealed carry permit . Theres a good reason why several FED LEO agencies use them.
I carry a Kahr,.40 and like it fine - but it only has a 6 round clip and solid.. heavy for its size which I like. My next one will be either a Glock or Springfield XD |

I am a Ruger fan and have been for years and I own several. I don't have a 9mm but do have a SR40c and love it. I also like the S&W shield. I just like the feel of the Ruger a little better but I don't think you could go wrong with either. _________________ Chargriller

<Thumbsup> There's a lot to be said about having something that feels right in your hand. That's why I never went for a Glock, they just felt awkward to me. I would definitely recommend an extended magazine for the Shield. The average size guy and larger will have their pinky hanging out in space with the standard mag. _________________ My current cookers: 80 gallon vertical tank

Magazine . Don't tell the cop clip if you get pulled over. G
43 or XD works for me 2.
Those little Rugers LCP Im told aren't pleasant to shoot.
I use the smaller magazine in my shield works better for me
for carry. |

I like the LCP and carry it a lot. It conceals well too. A second LCP is definitely an option. |

That's what I have. It comes in either .40 or 9mm. Kicks a lot less than you would expect from such a compact semi-auto and easy to make a nice grouping at the range. Trigger pull is significant, though. When I bought mine several years ago, I considered that a safety feature. Now I'm thinking of hiring a smith to shorten it. The girls have been instructed about how to use it and have had some practice under their belts so I worry less about them around it. |

If you like the older LCP try the newer LC9S has a different action on newer model very crisp feeling IMHO. |

The S&W and the new Ruger are both excellent choices, whichever feels best to you would be my suggestion...But then, I go back and forth between a 1911 and a Detective Special, so what do I know....I wish I had kept all the guns I've had through the years _________________ When they say "Do not use Gas to start grill"...They mean it! |
