Can anybody give advise on smoking a black iron pot of red beans inside my indirect. Is it doable? With pot lid removed, is the temp range of an indirect smoker adequate to cook the dish? Does this cooking technique add beneficial smoke flavors to the dish (does it actually get into the beans)? If so, can somebody give me some tips? TIA |

I cook several bean dishes on my offset that come out great. I would cook the rice separate then add after your beans have thickened. A pork butt or some ribs cooked above and dripping into red, black, pinto, butter, etc. will take them over the top... |
