I have a whole loin and was wondering should I cut it into steaks before I grill it or grill it whole and then cut it? Oh what a delima! Very Happy

Try wrapping in a jacket of sage sausage meat then wrap it with bacon. Sear off the bacon in a skillet till it starts to brown then place it on the smoker 1.5 to 2 hrs later at 250 degrees F it should be a nice med-rare 130 degrees F internal temp, bacon is crisp and the flavor is out of this world .

Thanks guy, I eneded up slicing it first because the loin tapered off on one end and that would have been overdone if I had cooked it whole. Turned out great!

BBQman you will have a chance to taste it in MIM that is what I'll be doing for Anything but Beef. It is the unbelievable and have used it for catering in a couple of locations.

As far as the tenderloin tapering down at the end the way we do that is to fold the end back so that it is against the thicker part. If I do that for roast tenderloin I tie the tenderloin with butchers twine. If I'm wrapping it in bacon then I use the bacon to hold it in place. This end will cook this way to a nice medium rare to medium (warm pink inside)
