Anyone ever use Maple or Date Sugar in any of their BBQ recipes? The stuff is kinda pricey and hard to find, so was curious how many people have ever tried it in a BBQ recipe.

I finally found some turbinado sugar here in Canada. The thing is, it has the texture of real course salt, huge granules. Is that what you guys use or should I give it a blast in the food processor..???

Yeah, that's the stuff I use. I have to give the rub a good shake if it's been stored to mix everything back up. I have heard people say they grind theirs down before using it so it's more in line with the granularity of their other ingredients, but I have never bothered with doing that myself.
