Well I got to say i was not a fan of baked beans until today. Here is what I whipped up, hope ya'll will give it a try.
2 smoked sausages, halved and cut into small pieces
3 cups rib trim, smoked and baked with BBQ sauce
4 14 oz. cans beans (bush if you can find em)
1 16 oz. can white kidney beans
1 cup celery
2 cups chopped onion
1 cup chopped red pepper
1 cup chopped green pepper
1 cup sliced mushroom
4 cloves garlic minced
1/4 cup molasses
1 bottle of beer
1 tbsp rub
1/4 cup BBQ sauce
1/4 cup BBQ sauce
- Chop vegies (celery, green pepper onion, mushroom and garlic) saute on low heat till tender, about 20 minutes.
- Meanwhile place smoked rib trim in pie plate with 1/4 cup BBQ sauce and 1/2 bottle of beer and bake uncovered at 275 for 45 minutes, turning occasionally. Meat should look almost blackened when done. Allow too cool for 10 minutes and pull with a fork into shreads, reserve with pan drippings.
- In a large pot or non stick frypan add all beans, veggies, sausage and rib trim, pan drippings together with beer, rub, molasses and 1/4 cup BBQ sauce and simmer for 1/2 hour. _________________ Chargriller Akorn

Thanks for the recipe Roxy I'm gonna try this. But I got one question. Don't you guys have 1/2 cup measuring cups up thar? Or do I have to measure 1/4 cup twice to get the correct taste? |

yes we do have em, one 1/4 cup was for the beans and the other was for the rib trim going in the oven with the beer... _________________ Chargriller Akorn

Im really not a fan of beans so I got to add things to make em taste like something other than plain old brown beans.
I think I suffer from Lagausi syndrome... _________________ Chargriller Akorn

ROXY- You are the man!! Tried your beans this past weekend while entertaining/feeding company. Let me just say that this was probably one of the best bean recipes that I have ever tried.
Thanks for sharing it!

| I noticed it does not say anything about smoking or putting under some ribs. What would you change if you were to smoke and put under ribs/pork butt? |

Not too much at all. I have done them on the smoker but not under some meat. _________________ Chargriller Akorn
