I have been reading for a while, and post at SMF. Im a native Texan, born in Houston TX, raised in Dallas TX, currently live in Austin TX. I fell in love with BBQ'ing about 2 yrs ago. I was told that I could not produce a brisket as good as theirs my first time around... I was challenged by some one who has been smoking meat for yrs, and said it takes yrs to develop the skill to do a perfect brisket. Apparently I have natural god given talent!!!! It turned out better than his ever has!!! He gave me the ingredients for his brisket rub, just not the amounts he used. I added a few of my own things to it, and brought the leftovers to work the following Monday, all were impressed. After that it was just a matter of smoking every thing I could get my hands on. Wink My goal is to open a BBQ joint with in the next few yrs. Im registering on this site so I can talk to people who already have done so, and hopefully get some help, tips, advice, as well as share my own tips and tricks with others. Well thats all for now, talk to your guys soon.

Thanks for the responses, happy to be here. I am not going to be sharing my rub at all, but I will send it to some of the folks here to get a honest opinion of my rub!!! I plan to bottle and sell my Pork rub first. I have two rubs, one for all things pork. And one for beef. Both are on the spicy side, but the beef rub is much spicier. I do have some pics of recent Q's, ill post some of those tonight if I get time.
