I tried the apple juice spray method for my first time, and I have to say it was excellent. It was kind of a last minute thought while finishing off the ribs, so I quick dumped some apple juice in a spray bottle while gazing at my bottle of Jack Daniels. I thought, why not? I would guess my mixture was 2/3 apple juice and 1/3 Jack, and even my wife loved it.

My question is, do you guys usually mix only what you're going to use or can you mix a whole bottle and keep it for next time?

I mix mine each time because it contains butter and brown sugar. It's a little thick for a spray bottle Very Happy

I usually use a olive oil and apple juice mix that I have to keep shaking up but it helps keeps the meet moist.

Hey moonie, I'll have to try mixing in some butter and b-sugar in the mix. Do you swab that mix of yours on?

More like pour(when I wrap). I usually do:

1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
1 cup brown sugar
1 stick butter

Add ingredients to a sauce pan and boil.

My rubs are heavy on fresh pepper, so this adds a sweet buttery punch at the end. It thickens up when wrapped, and almost becomes gooey. I've never had a complaint Smile
