Some excellent info.....Just to input on victor v/s harris, both are good equipment. It's probably a similiar comparison of lincoln v/s miller or ford v/s chevy. What you are used to working with is what you prefer. But since I'm here, I have Victor torches, Lincoln stick and Lincoln mig, and I drive a Chevy truck! |

Bro. Pete, I am sorry for your unfortunate position of having to drive a chevy. _________________ The Wild Pig build.

Well, when I grow up, I too will have a plasma cutter and I will drive it home in the back of my chevy. But keep us posted on the reliability of the chinese cutter. I want a plasma just for additional versatility and speed, but haven't bought one because of the $$$$. Currently, I use cutting wheels, O/A torch or a metal cutting saw. The saw is a 7 1/4" Clark (cheaper version of available metal cutting saws), but for around the house, it's great. I recommend anyone to still invest in good quality blades and beware of any cheap blades. |

Well, I couldn't stand it anymore. I went and bought myself an early Christmas present or a late one from last year....lol
I decided to go with the Miller 375 X-treme plasma. I have a Miller 212 MIG and a Hobart 135. I have had nothing but problems with the Hobart and I recall someone telling me to get the Miller to begin with and I didn't. I felt if I went with another brand and had problems I would want to stuff my boot up my .......... well you know where so deep I would never be able to walk again.
I almost went with the 625 X-treme but I liked the dual voltage on the 375. I use it on the farm too so the ability to run it on 120vac from a generator was appealing. _________________ The Wild Pig build.

Wonder how long it will be before we have to start paying sales tax on out of state purchases? Saved me on this purchase. I'm sure Obamer will figure out a way without a "tax increase". lol
I will let you guys know how I like it when I get it. _________________ The Wild Pig build.

You do have to admit, that is a nice cut.
What surprises me is six pages (and counting) on plasma cutters? This is digging into the posts about food pron and congratulatory cigars passed out for every new smoker that any Ringer has built or acquired this summer.
I may just start going to the crock pot forum everyone speaks so favorably about. _________________ Jimmie Ohio

Here in MA they were tring to do just that. They wanted to tax people that went to NH and made purchases becuase it is tax free in NH. Well suprising the goverment stepped in and said that it is not going to happen. _________________ can't drink all day if you don't start in the morning! |

Great video. You can really see how tha 1/2" is maxing it out being so slow and the bevel. It really tears it up on the thin stuff though. He could have gone much faster on that 16GA. _________________ D. Tillery
