Two brand new neighbors this summer. The guy across the road is from Peurto Rico & next door is from Panama. The frequent smoke coming from my garage/hideout has lured both over for introductions. Turns out both are into fixin' their ethnic based Q. With intros out of the way, now plans are in the works for some serious recipe & food sharing. Looks like "a whole lot of smokin' goin' on" in the near future Very Happy

Cool

Dear Forum Mod. if this post is not within your guide lines PLEASE DELETE.

Here is what I found on the net.

Apple Pie in a Jar

1 gallon apple cider
1 gallon apple juice
6 (3 inch) cinnamon sticks
1 1/2 cups white sugar, or to taste
1 (1 liter) bottle 190 proof grain alcohol

Something tells me their grain alcohol might have be HOMEMADE.

DIRECTIONS:
1.Place the apple cider, apple juice, cinnamon sticks, and sugar into a large pot. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring until the sugar has dissolved. Remove from the heat, and discard the cinnamon sticks. Allow the mixture to cool to room temperature, then stir in the grain alcohol. Pour into quart-size canning jars, seal with the lids and rings, and refrigerate until ready to serve.

Also have been told this is good with out the alcohol.

Here is a version of the same drink that I have been making for a while. Got it from TVWB. It is delicious.

Apple Pie Shots

3 Qts pure apple juice, I use Motts.
1 Tbl spoon apple pie spice
2 cups honey
5 cinnamon sticks
1 Qt of shine or 190 Everclear

Keep in fridge for 6 weeks, swirling every 3 or 4 days. Do not drink for 6 weeks. It taste just like apple pie with not a hint of burn.

Then dump out the contents of the jar and fill with your favorite shine.LOL
