Tonight we celebrated my wife Krista's bday with some nice thick ribeyes and some large shrimp my dad just brought back from the Texas gulf coast last week. We finished it off with a slice of New York Style Cheesecake! YUM!

Just how I like'em

tex

That is indeed a fine looking steak, tex_toby! And I like the turf 'n' surf combo with the shrimp (we love shrimp on the barbie here Wink)

inner10, grilled pineapple is so freakin' tasty you can eat it with anything! I buy whole pineapples and will grill two or three slices (rubbed with some brown sugar) with just about anything - other than maybe lamb. Even then, it makes for a great dessert! Very Happy

Cheers!

Yessir...if you have never had grilled pineapple, I suggest you run straight to the store to buy some. I always have to eat a piece straight off the grill when it is hot. It is the tastiest!

tex Cool

Dang... those steaks sure do look good, nothing like I have seen around here. Shocked
I was going to ask what's up with the pineapple but I will have to give it a shot too.

Trust me on this:

Take fresh pineapple slices and dredge them in table sugar just before placing them on a hot grill. When you take them off, sprinkle them with Kosher salt and serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

It sounds crazy, but the salt makes your taste buds stand up so you get more of the sweet flavor. Old baker's trick, but it WORKS!

I have to agree with Orson this is one of the best ways to make grilled pineapple.

I also like to soak mine in some dark or spiced rum with brown sugar, grill the pineapple slices and then place them standing up on a scoop of Ice Cream and then drizzle some of the sauce over top. I need to stop reading this board before I eat lunch!

Let's just use the rum, pineapple juice and a straw...... Smile

Nice looking steak!

tex_toby, Another fine meal. Great looking grill marks. Glad you don't have that "pre-oiled" shrimp in Texas. Smile
