Now this might sound like a weird question but where can I get a pair of gloves that I can get on.

I went to Home depot, menards, ETC, and even tried a pair that said 2X and I could NOT even get it on past them..

Yes that is right.. i have NOT even plugged in my NEW welder...

What do I do ??

Go to a welding supply store and buy a pair of welding gloves. They are very large as one size fits most all.

That's what I was thinking.. DAM.. Are they going to have a gold plated price tag ??

One large guy that was watching and listening to my whining and he said he can't believe the size of my hands and thought he had big hands but I win..

He told me I should be boxing with these mits and I told him I used to..

You should be able to get a nice pair for under 20.00. Look for the store brand. They are usually a couple of dollars cheaper and just as good as any on the shelf.

I use a good fitting pair of leather work gloves for most of what I do. Only put on the thick welding gloves when I need to hold the part with my left hand close to where I'm welding. I keep the welding gloves around for flipping burgers.

Even when I went ice fishing I didn't use gloves..

They to me they are much in the way even if I could find regular gloves big enough..

My compression gloves are even special order..

Does anyone custom make gloves at a reasonable price.. Laughing

I will be welding with a blanket on lap so I don't burn me or my chair..

Two things that do not go together. You want a pair of gloves that wont break the bank but you want a custom fitted pair of gloves. I only wear my heavy gloves for torch work. When I weld I never wear a glove on my stick hand as I can feel what my rod is doing as well as watching my puddle. Now if I go out of position then I will wear my right glove. My welding gloves are as pyronoel uses, a tight fitting pair of leather work gloves. You might try on a pair of tillman Tig gloves they are very soft and pliable but they do not fare well in my day to day use.

I am NOT wanting a custom fit Just something I can get past my finger nails..

Considering on what you just said MAYBE I do NOT need gloves for welding with this wire feed..

Should I post some pictures of my first welds ??

I was referring to your comment on the golden price tag. You asked if any one made custom gloves and earlier you wanted to know if welding gloves from a welding supply store had a golden price tag.
I also do not recommend anyone welding without gloves. I do it but that is me, and like I said when I weld out of position my right hand glove is always on.
If you would like to post some pics of your welds that would be great, I would love to see them. I personally do not critique welds unless I am asked to do so.

I was thinking if they had a HUGE markup ($251.83) it would not be worth the time to travel 65 miles one way to get a pair..

I am a tough guy but do NOT need to have holes on skin..

I like to have people tell me, to my face, so I can learn from my thinkings..

Here are the welding gloves that i use:
The longer ones on the bottom.

You can get them from Mcmaster.com for about $16/pair part# 5230T51

The long gloves are great because it allows you to wear short sleeves but still provides you with protection from slag and uv rays from the welding arc. I prefer them in florida since its normally so hot, i do not like having to wear long sleeve shirts all the time.

They are very comfortable and affordable.

I have a pair of Tillman 750's. They are super comfortable and have a lot of motion to them. Made of elk skin. Think I paid like 15-20 bucks for them.

As for sizes, the XL's are very big. They actually fit my hand, and I have big hands and very long fingers. I am 6'10, with proportionally large hands and these gloves fit perfect.

No, you can buy only one pair $16.15/pair. If you buy a package of six they are $15.56 a pair.

If you weld any length of time with out gloves you will get a cool sun tan. Last winter my wife asked me where I got so much sun. She was very dissapointed when I told her it was from welding. Even when wearing gloves try and keep them away from high temps. If you get them warm enough they will shrink. I have shrunk a few pairs myself.

I use Carhartts, fencer gloves I think they call them, found at my local Tractor Supply Inc. purchased for about $14. Plenty of room with the ex large. I can feel what I am doing with these. I rarely use my gauntlet gloves for that reason.

One thing to remeber with welding gloves... if they are semi snug/tight at first... they will break in.. the more you use them the loser they will get. I welded every day for years so i break them in faster then the recreational welder.
