With all the cooking that is happening this week I ran across this article and thought I would pass it on. I did the cut and paste and made a word doc out of it.

this is a very good idea to post up for everyone. thank you jeepdad

i use the cooks thesaurus, it has a lot more substitutions. plus if i havent got a clue what something is i look it up there for a description. ill share the link to it also in case anyone needs it.

That is really neat, and I bookmarked it. Thanks! The only thing I saw that was wrong is the beer sub. THERE IS NO SUBSTITUTE FOR BEER.

Alton Brown has a way simpler guidline... ANY liquid can be substituted for ANY liquid. Wink

Thanks for the link jeepdad. Who hasn't been out of one of those ingredients at some time. Think I'll try the beer substitute this Saturday for the big game. Local mega mart has Swanson chicken broth on sale. Gonna pickup 2 cases. Very Happy
