I bought a cheap one from costco a few years ago and I loved it while it worked, but after a few months, it stopped working. I bought another one from costco with the same result. I have been wanting a new one for awhile, but I don't know if there is a good, reliable one on the market or if I just need to stick with my wired one.

Does anyone know of a good, reliable wireless thermometer? Any advice is greatly appreciated!

reeceb73, Buy yourself a Maverick ET-73 and you will either love it or hate it.
Of all the wireless ones out there these are the best but most controversial. Teleking is gonna be along shortly to rip me a new one I know it. Laughing

for starters, take the broken units back to costco - they back up everything they sell! People return half eaten food to worn out / torn jeans to my local one, and they hand then the cash no questions asked - you sound like yours would be legitimate return - then you will have a little extra coin to pay for that Maveric et-73!

The new Maverick ET-732 is the one to look at - once it becomes available. I haven't been able to find the user manual yet, but the sales blurbs claim greatly increased range, along with other updates - like retaining user settings from one usage to the next.

[edit] Unfortunately, I just realized the ET-732 is a single-channel unit. That's a shame. I'm just lucky that my ET-73 has enough range to reach my bedroom from the cooker Wink

Cheers!

I'm a newbie at this, but I've had decent luck with the webber single channel

http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/183-9800668-6923115?asin=B000WEONU2&AFID=Froogle_df&LNM=|B000WEONU2&CPNG=patio%20garden&ci_src=14110944&ci_sku=B000WEONU2&ref=tgt_adv_XSG10001

It was cheap enough and seems pretty accurate when I compare it with a standard meat thermometer. I can use it all over my house and even when we were at a neighbors hitting golfballs at walmart (beer was involved) I had a good signal.

Thanks for all the replies. I should have returned them to Costco, but they went into the trash several years ago.

I looked on amazon and found the maverick ET 73, but haven't seen the ET732. I will probably wait on it and give it a whirl. When my costco ones worked, I really loved having it. My smoker is right outside of my kitchen, so it only needs to send a distance of about 10ft.

It shouldn't be that hard to make one of these things, but I'm no engineer.

I don’t think you will see any of those in the future. Razz The ones I use to fly as a kid had wires and made me dizzy spinning in a circle. Wink
