Probably just a regional thing!

You may have a niche market opportunity?

Next or 2nd day air is pricey. i shipped ribs to Montana and Wyoming this past summer (a friend sent them to his traveling folks as a gift). The shipping was almost as much as the value of the ribs! Shocked

If you are willing to pay the frieght, I will ship you out as much as you want! Very Happy

The going rate for retail pork butt is $10.00 here. Most wholesalers will want a mark-up of at least 100%, so that means you would then need to provide the meat to them at $5.00 a pound. This would not be profitable for the average BBQ business to participate in and make a reasonable profit. a large mass produced operation is what it would take for the price points to work out, and then that is what you get- not quality product!

Just my two cents worth! Very Happy

I dont want to buy any (I'm sure yours is great Very Happy ). I know the COO at a large food distributor and he wanted me to send him a sample of mine. I looked around to see how many places made bbq for that "application" and didn't see many. Frankly only 1. I just wondered why so few? Figured it wasn't economically feasible...
Sad

Rubit was talking about using a KitchenAid mixer to pull pork the other day. Said it worked very well. The discussion is under General BBQ
