Maniac, you could try spraying the sides with PAM, then fry up some bacon.
If you get enough fat rendered and move the bacon around the sides I think you should be good.
How did you try it that didn't go well? |

I used a basting mop to spread the melted lard all over the disk. I also used GF's method for my final seasoning. _________________ I was taught to respect my elders. It's just getting harder to find them.

Maniac, very funny you just posted this, I saw one of your replies in cookers , and saw 20" disc in the sig line and just thought "no pics on the first cook yet"
You did a great job, looks good.
Ease into it until you get the heat control figured out, (don't ask ).
Looking forward to your upcoming cooks, enjoy it. |

Looking good Maniac.
I'd wrap that up in a tortilla and put a hurtin' on it.
Keep cooking on it and experiment. _________________ Gunny 3073/4044/8411

GF Thanks for your support / concern By going with the alpha there is not to much in the line of control....1 ring 2 rings with a little in between.....will be trying more now that i got that first one over.
Jarhead......Thank you I would have put it on a tort..but we forgot to pick them up with the rest of the goodies i'll try to experiment but i think my wife would do a better job
