Decided to try my hand at welding so I went out and bought a new Hobart 187 a few months ago. Been gathering up as much free steel as I could find. Found an old steel shelf type bench and a kid at work found me some flat steel so I decided to put the two together and make a small welding table. Welded on some casters and some old generator handles so I can cart it out of the garage. Not the best welds but they all held and I touched them up with the grinder. I have solid steel wire and a 6o pound tank but it was windy out so I went with flux core. So all in all I'm happy. Three things I learned today was to slow down, turn up the voltage and watch the puddle.

Skidder, Good job on the table. Very Happy
That project will make every other project you do, easier.
Sounds like you learned most of what you need to know, on project 1. Wink

Maniac that's just more practice. As long as it's not structural.
