Well, my best friend's birthday is tomorrow. He turns 41 and we've been friends since second grade. He is a total self confessed Star Wars nerd. I have been thinking about making him this cooker for about a year. I started on it last Sunday and finished it up today and delivered it to him. He was ecstatic. I think the only way it could have made him happier was it if beamed a holograph of Princess Leia saying "Help me Obi Wan, you're my only hope."

I'm very happy with how it turned out. It's my first UDS and I can't wait to make myself one. I can't wait to sample some goodies off of it.

I used the original lid and cut it down and banged up the edges for an ash pan. You can just make it out on the bottom.

This last one is my friend Jason with his new cooker.

Great looking cooker Crash.
Your friend looks very proud of it. Now get it dirty.
Sign him up on The Smoke Ring too.

Thank you guys.

I actually did see the R2bbq. I was looking for pictures of R2D2 for an idea of how to paint this.

I almost stopped today to get myself a barrel so I can make my own UDS. I decided to put it off til Thursday. Then I can burn it out and make a much simpler one for me. I wanna try cooking on one.
