I posted questions a while back during my build and thought I would post some pics. First off thanks to K.A.M. and anyone else who gave much needed advice. I do compitions from time to time and cook for function so needed a bigger cooker. Most all materials have been salvaged (free) between by brother who does demolition work like tearing down buildings and some which I got from my boneyard at work. The most I spent (besides time) was on the Tel Tru thermoeters. First time posting pics so I hope I did everything right. Also I didn't take many pics during the build. The cabinet used for the cooking chamber was from a job he did at an air force base. We laid it on it's side.
This is in the shop at my brother's work. Got the box and wood stove on the frame. Took out the middle shelf and used it for tuning plates.
Now at my house and put my friend to work grinding
More to come. Just want to see how I am at posintg pics. |

| Apparently I'm not very good at posting pics. I resized and rotated them before uploading them to photobucket. I guees I'm gonna need more advice. |

When I first posted the pics were sideways but look OK now.
Anyway, the project got delayed because my brother's work sent him out of town. There is still some refining to do. For one need to take the outside down to metal and repaint it. We got the inside down to bare metal of course but the outside just knocked off the loose stuff and painted it since we were running out of time. Had a compitition coming up quick. We got it done on a Thursday night and had to start setting up the next day. 11:30 at night we had a fire going in the fire box and cooking chamber to burn everything off. Don't have a pic of that but do have a pic of the fire truck that came.
here is one of the temp guages with just a few degrees difference
here are the dampners

I've never lived anywhere that I couldn't burn, shoot, or ride anything I want. Gotta love the country!
Good luck on your build. _________________ SCOTTIE

Here are more pics in use. I love the way it cooks. Even for smaller cooks I'd rather use it than my bandera or the built in brick pit.
Bottom shelf full of chicken and tri tip
my brother tending to it
here it is on the right next to a santa maria tailer I borrowed
one more with just a few briskets on it
