Anyone ever eaten at a Dickey's Barbecue Pit? There is one inside the clubhouse at a local golf course I play at called Village Greens Golf Club.

The place is really nice decorated in fancy wood from floor to ceiling. Definitely doesn't look like your typical BBQ joint. Great view of the golf course also.

Only thing I've eaten there so far is the pulled pork sandwiches, and they were really good. I will try some other things next time I'm there.

I would recommend it for any golfers traveling through the Spartanburg, SC area.

The only thing I like about Dickey's is the big yellow cups. It is a nice marketing gimmick. Very Happy

We had one where I lived in TX. It was just "meh". I called it fast food BBQ. It closed down after a couple of years.

we have one near my house, my son went with the gf family and they went to dickies. when they returned he told me this. i have been giving them some of the vacum packed turkey, chicken and brisket for her (the gf) and the family to try. well the family and my son both agreed that thou brisket wasnt dry none of the meats had that smoke kiss to it. Surprised and all agreed that my stuff even thou 4mnths in the freezer vac packed was better then what they ate that night.

so here is my question, are they afraid to use smoke? i see the smoke they have and it has zero flavor for smoke.

so anyway i went a couple times before i said to heck with it, ill do my own and keep reading all the forums.

That's the impression I had at the new one here in Northern CA. It was OK, but nothing to write home about. I thought the beans were pretty bland.
