Hey all!

So I'm from MN and and new to smoking but excited to be here and try to learn a few things from the guys who've been doing this a long time. I've been cooking and grilling for years and am now looking to start making some good BBQ with a smoker. The wife just got me an electric smoker for my bday and I cant wait to use it. I'm going to break it out this weekend and do some ribs. I've done ribs in the oven before and then finished them on the grill but this will be the first time doing them in a smoker. Any advice??

I'll try to take some pics and get on here....only if they turn out though! Very Happy

Welcome to the ring TimPlu, looking forward to seeing some pics of your cooks. Smile
The only advice I can give right now is find you a method and try it then enjoy the day and meal. Make notes of the cook so you can refer back to them then if you want to try something different you have comparisons to go by.

Welcome to the ring. I always like seeing more Minnesotans here.
Don't let your water/drip pan run out of water. The moisture it creates in the smoker really adds to tender ribs or pork butt. It also helps break down the connective tissue.

Good luck.
