What's the best bbq in kansas city these days? I used to live there and there were lots of no name places along 350 hiway that were outstanding. A Pile of wood, smoke in the air and a fat guy at the smoker(greasey windows are a good sign too). Smokin guns was really good. Never really cared for Gates or Bryants. Average bbq and a lot of hype. they do have style , tho. LC's was a family favorite. It's time to revisit KC and where do I go? Don't care one bit for whats popular, its what is good that counts.

anyone remember how bad KC Masterpiece was? Can't help beating up on what had to be the worst BBQ I've ever had. Love their sauce but not the same guys.

Woodyard - smoked chicken wings
OK Joes - Z-Man (near religious experience)
Rosedale - I like their brisket and sausage ..Not as much a fan of their burnt ends

BB's Lawnside is a great place. Some places its the sauce. At Lawnside its the blues that make the BBQ.

I had lunch at Oklahoma Joe's last spring, not impressed a little bit with the food. They served me bland dry leftovers on the big sampler platter. Sad
