Kurt_W, Yankee to the rescue.
I make them on the disco, never tried grilling them.
Get some thin steak slices, season with whatever you like.
Most places add some cooked onion and melted cheese if you want. I just melt sliced cheese while thier on the disc throw some onion on, good to go. |

Easiest and best way to do this. Get some rib eye, either you or have the butcher slice it as thin as it can be. Saute up on a griddle preferred, or at least a griddle on a grill to get some added flavor. Most you will need is S & P to start. Cheese is a debate, lol.
I use the whiz on mine, add some grilled onions...peppers if you want, on a nice hoagie roll (or bread of choice), and you are set.
Key goes back to getting the rib eye sliced as thin as you can _________________ BBQ, friends/family, a nice cigar and a fine glass of scotch. Sometimes the world comes together on its own.

Here is about as good a tutorial as you will find.

I like to take a beef roast and smoke it it over mesquite to medium rare, I use my personal beef rub but a generic one is all good, then slice it, if you have a slicer like I do then great, if not slice it as thin as you can, then make an au jus in the crock pot and let it go in there on medium for a couple hours, serve your sandwiches with a small cup of au jus, always a hit in my house, and I vacuum seal the leftovers for lunch meat! _________________ Beauty Is In The Eye Of The Beerholder |
