Hi everyone,

I have been using a bbq guru type system I made with an arduino, blowing air on the coals, working very well. The problem is keeping the coals near the air hole. I was thinking, if I were to make a steel basket, about the size of a chimney starter, I could hold the coals together in a big pile... I know more heat comes out of spread out coals, but I feel that with the air being blown in, a basket would work quite well... Would also make adding coals easier...

At thoughts?

Hi,

It's a big simple brick pit with indirect heating, coals at one end, food at other. It's about 6x4ft, cooking area ant 4x3'

Currently just running a pile of coals set on a grill at one end.

Pete, having a basket is a good way to contain your coals. I would give it a shot to see how the cooker reacts to one in there.
