cadmaster, is the port messed up or just the probe? The probes can be bought.

Thermoworks makes a nice unit but they get a nice price too. But everything I hear people love em and they are supposedly three times the quality of the Maverick line.
Here is the link.

Now with that being said ask yourself do you really need the electronics.? I have 2 Maverick ET73's and about 4 extra probes laying in the junk drawer of my garage. Gave up on the electronics about 5 years ago. They worked all right I guess but I just got tired of wires hanging out of my smoker everywhere. Things get busy around my smoker and I would snag a wire and jerk the probes around and trying to place the meat on the rack out of the way of probes and wires just got to be a pain.

Now I use a couple $4 oven therms to monitor pit temps and a Thermapen for meat temps. Works much better for me. Got rid of all the wires hanging out and I have learned to rely on my knowledge of how my pit works rather than what a electronic probe is telling me.
Just a thought Cool

Thermoworks recommends the TW8060 for BBQ. I'll be ordering one. My Maverick died, too.
