I got my FAT 60 on Monday and have done my first burn and first cook on it this week. Threw an 18lb packer on with some pork butt, chicken thighs, ABT's and some Elgin sausage. Minor tweaks need to be done with the firebox doors and a single valve on my pressure burner needs replacing but outside of that, the pit performed awesome!!! Once up to temp, all I had to do was throw a split on every hour to hour and a half to maintain a solid 260 degrees. The design of the pit is awesome and I can really tell that Travis has put a lot of thought into his pit design. His customer service and just good nature interaction sold the deal for me on pulling the trigger on the order. So far I am definitely not disappointed in that decision.

One thing I learned on the initial burn however; Uhhhhhhh, don't leave your firewood in the storage basket near the firebox for OBVIOUS reasons... LOL!!! Luckily I was monitoring the rig regularly and caught it before disaster happened. I guess I got sleeping on that silly decision.

Thank you Travis for helping me through getting the information I needed to make my decision on ordering from you. Your willingness to correct any and all issues I brought up with no hassle is the benchmark for good customer service my man. I will definitely pass the word around about your pits and awesome design.

If any of you are on the fence about ordering a new rig, I would STRONGLY urge you to consider DP Pits! Trust me when I tell you it has TONS of cooking area for such a small footprint design.

Now, back to munching on this Q!!!
