Just curious how hot your insulated firebox gets during long cooks (both offsets and vertical cookers)? What kind of insulation did you use and thickness?

Mine gets hot enough on the top that you can touch it bare handed. It is hot enough that you won't leave it there very long.

We used 2" mineral wool.
