As I am getting ready to cook tomorrow I thought I would put together a bbq tool kit so I can just grab it and go instead of having to round everything up each time.

What do you consider necessities, or you favorite tool(s)?

Sorry if there is another thread like this I didn't think to look first.

Lighters, flashlights/ headlights, thermometers (thermopen), thermometers (wireless Mavericks), spare probes, food grade gloves, leather gloves, pig tails, pencil and notepad, couple of aprons, multi-bladed screwdriver, pair of vice grips, hammer, spare tent stakes.

All this fits into a cheap and cheerful tool box from Harbor Freight http://www.harborfreight.com/22-inch-toolbox-98273.html

Hammer, grips and screwdriver go in the bottom, the aprons go on top of them, the leather welding gloves on the aprons, the longer pigtail on top of the WG, the box of food grade gloves go on one end of the WG, the Wireless Therms, and spare probes go on the other end, then the tray goes in with everything else in the tray.

But seriously folks...

Tongs (2-3, small to big), spatula, thermo's (instant read, remote, cheapo oven), S&P, 2-3 favorite rubs, gloves (leather and disposable), hand tools (pliers, screwdrivers, etc), flashlights (at least 2, plus extra batteries), lighters (and extra matches), pen and paper, and a few sharp knives. That's what's in my 'To-Go' box if I'm invited to go 'help' (or attempt to rescue) with a cook Laughing

We have three rolling job boxes that store our cooking equipment. We also use the same tool box SoEzzy posted for smaller things.
Here is our equipment lists according to boxes, tool box and truck.

Sorry for the late response Embarassed

SoEzzy: Thanks for the response, there were a couple things in there I hadn't thought of.

Rinngrizz: Thanks, Yeah SoEzzy pretty much nailed it Very Happy

TOOlman: Everyone knows Jack Daniels is must have Laughing

BUGSnBBQ: Thanks Bugs, It's good to know I'm not the only one invited to "help" and by help i mean do it all. Rolling Eyes but I guess that is what happens when you are awesome Laughing

plbass: Good luck with getting your box set up, I picked one up from Wal-mart. It was a little bit bigger I think but you can never have too much space. Very Happy I hope to get everything in it in a couple days if I get a chance.

k.a.m.: Shocked That is an impressive list, I think I need a bigger box Laughing

There were a few things that seemed to stand out when I looked over it, like Wiskey, Energy shots, and a flamethrower. Sounds like a good time me Laughing Laughing

And also that is an exceptional "like" button you have there, I might have to commission your art department to create one for me Laughing
