My wife found a recipe for a sandwich spread consisting of mayonnaise, salsa and chopped green onions and we had to give it a try. Texas toast with pepper jack cheese and deli-sliced turkey grilled in a cast iron pan directly over the Vortex and crinkle cut fries cooked indirect.

Will definitely be making this again!

That gives a whole new meaning to a Turkey Sandwich. Nice looking meal.

Grilled Hot Turkey Sandwiches

- 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons salsa
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 8 slices sourdough bread
- 1/2 pound deli-sliced turkey
- 4 slices pepper jack cheese
- 4 tablespoons butter

Mix the mayonnaise, salsa, and green onions in a small bowl. Spread the seasoned mayonnaise evenly on each slice of bread. Layer the turkey and cheese on 4 of the slices. Top with remaining bread to make 4 sandwiches.

Melt 2 tablespoons butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Fry sandwiches in butter until lightly toasted. Add remaining butter to skillet, turn sandwiches over. Cook until the cheese is melted, and the bread is browned.
