I am doing a couple simple modifications on a guys BBQ pit. While I have it I decided to run the dimensions through the calculator. The firebox is a bit oversized at 146%, not much I can do about that for what he's paying me. His stack is 26" when the calculator suggests 20." I was already going to clean up the end of the stack since whoever built it did not even come close to cutting it straight. Should I suggest trimming the stack to him? Would those extra 6" make much difference? I have never ran the pit myself, so not sure about how she runs now. It is a 24"x36" pit with a 18x18x24 rectangular fire box, the stack is 5" pipe with a swooping 90 coming out the side at grate height. I'll post pics if necessary, just feeling lazy....

I would just dress it up and leave the height.
