I have a 30 inch diameter propane tank with the dome ends in tact.
I want to attach a 30 inch round firebox to the dome.
let's say my cook grate is half way down at 15 inch.
my tuning places are 5 inch below that.
the top of the fire box starts there and P insert it 10 inches into the dome but I don't leave the pipe in tack. instead i cut it to fit the outside of the dome.
My question: Is the area inside the dome where the pipe was considered part of the firebox volume or now part of the cook chamber?
when you indent the pipe into the dome end do you leave the pipe in tact and insert it into the dome or shape it so that the pipe ends where it meets the dome?
sorry I have no pic to show what I mean. |

I never get that critical. If the calculator say's the two work I mount them because in my opinion the area you're speaking of is not that large. _________________ Always remember slow and steady wins the race.

k.a.m.,
I have noticed you have mentioned that you like to start your fire box 1 inch above your tuning places. My question is why not put the top of the fire box in line with the tuning plates?
if it is above the tuning plates would that cause hot air to get trapped at the top of the firebox?
I am just trying to understand how this works?
I have a round firebox and was going to place it where the top of the Firebox was in line with the tuning plates.
Thanks for all your help. |
