Hello...I used my Maverick for over a year..its beeen great. Im now smoking and I have to get like 10 ft w/in transmitter to get proper temp. I have new batteries...probes are new...is it just dying? Its great if your outside, or to put in the meat. But to sit on the couch...its not happpening. Is there a transmitter(I just care about pit temp, Ill use Thermapen to test food)Just a cheapo one probe that works good? Thanks.

It's a wireless, with one probe, it is in their BBQ section, and is priced about $30. I have two of them, and depending what I am cooking, and how many cookers I have going I use them for both pit temp, and meats. Brian

I agree with Brian and Loren. I have a charmglow wireless that my kids got me for dad day a couple years ago. I now have a BBQ guru, but I still use the charmglow if I have 2 different cuts of meat going at one time. It works great and is relatively inexpensive.
