I need to make new grill grates for my small smoker. I want to use the grate style like I have on the big cooker (I think its no9)..I was hoping to find stainless steel grate and angle iron but I cant seem to locate stainless angle iron..I assume I can use the black iron?? Also I do not have access to a welder anymore so I wanted to use bolts/washers to attach the grate. I would NOT do this on one that people would see but it is for the backyard one..What type bolts should I use? I assume NO galvanized..

Well I think I found a place close to me that has the stainless angle iron. Not a bad price either. So now the only question is how to attach with no welder available to me....Bolts and washers I assume..

Stay with stainless hardware. It will prevent dissimilar metal corrosion in the future. Use a cobalt bit on ultra low speed and a lot of pressure to cut through the stainless. Good luck I am building an entire smoker/grill out of heavy stainless with stainless rivets and TIG welded seams. I keep telling myself that it really looks cool but it is taking forever.

Do it right, bro. Spend the 15 bux and rent a welder for the day.
