The calendar looks great...what a tool!
If you get time, there are a number of contests in Illinois that are recognized by the Illinois BBQ Society. All the contests are listed at http://www.ILBBQS.com -> Contests/Events .
Additionally, thanks to a blanket Governor's Proclamation, all contests that meet the specific requirements for both the American Royal and the Jack Daniels World Invitational, and are recognized by the ILBBQS, are State Championships and Qualifiers.
Thank you for all your hard work on this site!

Big Tom, You are wise.......beyond your years.... It's obvious by your quote that you have a firm grasp on the reality of BBQ and a general understanding of BBQ's place in the COSMOS... well done son

All CBBQA contests are sanctioned by KCBS or IBCA and are included in our calendar.

Our calendar has been updated with all 2010 events that we know of. We have 515 events in our calendar for this year.
If you know of an event that isn't listed, please let us know.

It would be great if you could include the total purse amount. I know the KCBS events are posted with the purse amount on their site. _________________ BBQ is like sex...

|
|
Hi
I am from downunder and visiting the US again in June July of this year to seek information, knowledge and skills around the legendary BBQ and the wonderful flavoursome finger licking food it creates. Can someone please assist me with directing me to a medley of events that I will be able to interact with the folks skilled in using BBq. I really need to be guided into 'what are the best bbq's to buy for commercial application'?, methods and tips from skilled users? A bit of BBQ emersion learning from someone in the know is what Im seeking. I have a hospitality background, two of my boys went to college in the US and we all yearn for the bbq flavours we do not have down here - Help if you can - cheers Ree _________________ Kiwi Gal |

Where are you going to be and when?
Or are you looking for a route to flow through many states or just in one or two?
You'll need to become friends with lots of teams, not hard to do, but lots of contests are not allowed to feed the public directly, there are some that have a peoples choice, or if you can come and get yourself certified as a CBJ (Certified BBQ Judge), you could then apply to judge at a number of contests, and get to eat lots and lots of good bad and indifferent BBQ.
http://www.kcbs.us/classes.php here are the KCBS CBJ classes that are posted so far. _________________ Here's a change Robert.
